Given he major difficulties encountered in Afghanistan, each step towards economic development and infrastructure financing is a step forward for every Afghan better economic future.

3 major projects deserve to be emphasized when it comes to the  economic development of Afghanistan, namely the construction of New Kabul City Project, Kam Oil Refinery and the new terminal of the Mazar – e- Sharif airport named “Mowlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi International Airport”.

As far as the construction of New Kabul City Project is concerned, one must say that it is regarded as one of the most important projects across the country that was initiated by the Afghan government with financial support from Japan.

It is expected that this visionary city  still to be built in the upcoming 15 years, will have 240 thousand residential houses, including office buildings for ministries, modern markets, international standard roads, schools, canalization and sanitation and other infrastructure elements designed on the basis of the most advanced technology.

Now, regarding,  Kam Oil, the very first oil refinery in Afghanistan, the Kam Group of Companies recently launched a new phase in its joint venture funded with partners from Azerbaijan through a USD 30 million investment.

This phase of the oil refinery has the capacity of producing 500 tons of oil per day.

This comprises the refining into petrol, diesel, T1 and other waste products such as tar.

All refined products go through a standard check performed by an afghan company in cooperation with the Swiss group SGS.

Last but not least, the new terminal of the Mazar – e – Sharif airport inaugurated in June 2013, was built within a USD 60 million budget along with the assistance of  both Germany and the United Arab Emirates over a 3 year period.

It is now open for domestic and international flights.

As everyone can easily imagine, all these 3 key projects will contribute to speed up the economic development of the country while creating jobs.
