Happy-Labour-Day

1 MAY : HAPPY LABOUR DAY & « BONNE FETE DU MUGUET » POUR MES COMPATRIOTES ! !

International Workers’ Day, also known as Labour Day in some countries, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement, socialits, communists or anarchists and occurs every year on May Day (1 May), an ancient European spring festival.

Being a traditional European spring celebration, May Day is a nationalp public holiday in several European countries. The date is currently celebrated specifically as « Labour Day » or « International Workers’ Day » in the majority of countries, including those that didn’t traditionally celebrate May Day. Some countries celebrate a Labour Day on other dates significant to them, such as the  United States, which celebrates Labor Day on the first Monday of September.

Labour Day  is an  annual legal holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight – hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.

As we speak, French People also celebrate « La  Fête du Muguet » on May 1st so we would like to take this opportunity to wishing a « Bonne fête du Muguet pour mes compatriotes » !
